Eastbourne’s sunniest choir will be raising the roof at their Christmas concert on Friday 1st December at St. Saviour's Church on South Street in the heart of Eastbourne town centre. They will be holding a cake sale in aid of Eastbourne Dementia Action Alliance, to help improve the lives of people and families affected by dementia.

We’re a fun, friendly and welcoming community choir based in Eastbourne and Hailsham and we sing an exciting mix of rock, pop, gospel and world music. From melodies that send shivers down your spine to irresistible toe-tappers that make it impossible to stand still, every song is chosen to lift the heart and bring people together.
Since starting in February 2016, we’ve grown into a dynamic choir of over 70 members, all bound by a shared love of music, laughter and friendship. Our name, The Happy Place Choir, perfectly sums up what this choir means to us. It’s not just a choir… it’s our safe, joyful, inclusive space where everyone belongs.
Whether you’re a seasoned singer or someone who’s only ever sung in the shower, you’re welcome here. Male or female, young or old, our choir welcomes you. There are no auditions, no pressure - just the simple joy of singing with others in a supportive, happy atmosphere. We meet once a week during term-time and perform at local events, festivals and venues throughout the year.

Parking: There is plenty of free parking in the residential area behind the pub in the Motcombe area. There is also a bus stop outside Waitrose.
Trial Sessions: £10 for 2 trial sessions.
Choir Membership: If you decide to join, the membership fee is £24 per calendar month, payable by standing order. Please note we do not offer drop-ins.

We are really excited to be launching the choir in Hailsham! This brand new branch of the choir will be opening on Wednesday 21st January at 7.30pm-9pm. The first session will be completely FREE, giving you a chance to meet Alice, the choir leader, and get a feel for the songs you will be doing and meet your fellow (potential) choir members. Tell your friends, bring them along and let's start something wonderful together!

Angela Brooks is our inspirational, passionate and fun loving choir leader. Angela is a professional vocalist with over 25 years of experience in the music industry. She is also one of the lead singers for the Sway Allstars Orchestra and has performed with world famous artists including:

About the Choir
The Happy Place Choir is a fun-loving, inclusive and vibrant community choir that brings people together through the joy of song.
We perform an uplifting mix of music, from feel-good pop songs and classic rock favourites to rich, soulful gospel harmonies that fill the room with energy.
For almost 10 incredible years, the choir has been thriving in Eastbourne - and now we’re launching a second branch in Hailsham to welcome even more voices into our musical family! We’re a non-audition choir, open to anyone and everyone, whether you’re a seasoned singer or a complete beginner. All you need is enthusiasm!
Rehearsals take place once a week during term-time, and each year we put on Summer and Winter concerts, as well as perform at fantastic local and regional events and festivals, including the brilliant Chiddfest Music Festival. And the best part? Both branches will come together for concerts and special events, creating an unforgettable wall of sound!

No auditions, no need to read music, no recriminations for singing out of tune. This choir offers fun and genuine friendship, a true community choir where people of all ages from all walks of life can come together to have a brilliant time. Led by the engaging, always smiling and constantly encouraging Angela, it's 90 minutes (and often a bit more) of fun and sun, even on the most miserable winter evening. How do I join the choir?
Simply complete the enquiry form and we will get back to you within 48 hours. You will be sent a registration form and further information. Alternatively, feel free to send a message to 07877 956721.
I have never sung in a choir before. Is it for me?
The Happy Place Choir is open to anyone over the age of 16. There are no auditions and you don't need to be able to read music! New members are welcome to join at any time.
Do I need to audition?
The Happy Place Choir is a community-led choir and is open to all singers. There is no audition required - just a passion for singing!
How much does it cost?
Choir membership is £24.00 per month which is payable by monthly standing order. The cost is spread over the year and includes all lyrics, choir rehearsals, performances and any extra rehearsal dates.
You can try the choir before becoming a member with our 2 for £10 pass.
There is no joining fee and you can cancel your membership at any time by providing 2 weeks written notice.

Can I join the choir mid-term?
Yes, you can join the choir any time of the year, although if it is near the end of a term we may recommend that you start the following term.
Are there discounts for those on a low income?
If you are in receipt of benefits, such as universal credit, or feel that the membership fee is prohibitive due to financial reasons, we can provide a discount on the membership fee. This is done on an individual basis depending on each person's individual circumstances.
